Thatcher Medical kicked off their Open House by having a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the event. Dr. Reena Shah and Dr. Savitha Allam were joined by their office staff, their patients, executives and physicians from Delnor Hospital and Provena St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Charles local businesses and Chamber of Commerce members. Alderman, Bill Turner, graciously led the ribbon-cutting ceremony while a large crowd gathered together.
Dr. Michele Thatcher, who passed away two years ago, was born in France and was very proud of her nationality, and that was apparent to all who knew her. She was well-known in the community as a respected physician and trusted colleague. The Open House was very well-attended, with a broad range of attendees from the medical field and the local community. Many of Dr. Thatcher’s patients joined the practice at their Open House on Wednesday to share some fond memories over glasses of wine.
Both Dr. Thatcher and Dr. Shah believed strongly in preventative medicine and closely monitoring patients with varying degrees of disease in support of good health. In honor of Dr. Thatcher, a wall hanging was proudly placed in her memory in the patient waiting room. It reads, “Go Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams”, with a fleur-de-lis pattern paying homage to her French heritage.
